PolarPro McKinnon 135 Series Gold Mist 1/4 Filter 72mm

The PolarPro McKinnon 135 Series Gold Mist 1/4 Filter is a diffusion filter for photo and video, designed by PolarPro in collaboration with Peter McKinnon. The Gold Mist softens transitions in the highlights and reduces contrast for a softer, more organic image. Unlike the Black Mist, it gives the highlights a warmer tint while the shadows stay neutral. This gives portraits and atmospheric scenes a warm, cinematic look. With 90% light transmission and a strength of 1/4, you lose very little light.

The filter is made of Chroma glass from Germany with an anti-reflective, fingerprint-resistant and scratch-resistant coating. The 6061 aluminium frame is weather-sealed, and the filter has a front thread so you can stack other filters on top. According to PolarPro, the filter works with most standard lens hoods, as well as with the MagFlip lens hoods.

The filter comes in an aluminium film canister with a threaded front and rear cap, inspired by classic film rolls. Inside each cap you'll find a handy cheat sheet with the Sunny 16 rule for quick exposure adjustments. A microfibre cloth for cleaning is also included.
